Basic Function:

Guide and direct the plant’s Human Resource function within approved budgets, corporate guidelines, and legal requirements. The Human Resource Manager is responsible for the administration of all Human Resource functions within the Springdale Plant operations. The incumbent is responsible for the recruitment of new employees at the site to ensure the best workforce possible. The position surveys area companies as to benefits, policies, and wage rates to ensure MUVIQ is competitive within the community. The Human Resource Manager is responsible for communicating a variety of information to all personnel relating to items such as benefits, policies and procedures, activities, and company announcements. The incumbent administers, interprets, and disseminates company policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent implementation.

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for the identification of training needs, identifying resources required to meet those needs, and providing training once resources are provided. This position serves as a trainer and facilitator in all areas of plant training. The incumbent has the responsibility to track all training to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards as well as plant policies and procedures.

Organisation: Immediate Supervisor: General Manager with dotted line to Global HR Director.

Principal duties and key responsibilities:

  • Handles the day-to-day activities and strategic support of the facility.
  • Maintaining good communication and a positive relationship with Associates to promote associate satisfaction and ensure a positive working environment.
  • Providing advice, counseling, and guidance to all levels of management and staff on company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains consistent application of employment policies and associate development by reviewing management actions; mentor managers; reviewing disciplinary, appraisal, and counseling actions.
  • Maintains associate handbook by researching, writing, editing, and distributing new and revised policies and procedures.
  • Develop and administer a plant specific wage structure.
  • Administer policies and procedures relating to the Human Resource function to ensure fair and consistent application.
  • Recruit, source, interview and hire personnel for the plant to ensure the most qualified work force possible.
  • Develop and administer training and development programs.
  • Represent the plant with State/Federal agencies on issues involving the Human Resource function.
  • Responsible for all EH&S policies and procedures within the plant, as well as management of all work-related incidents and corresponding worker’s compensation claims.
  • Responsible for administration of the ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, and for all other safety and environmental internal and external
  • Coordinate employee training programs to ensure all personnel are properly trained in accordance with IATF 16949 guidelines as well as plant policies and procedures.
  • Complete and comply with any relevant customer specific requirements.

Mandatory Qualification:

(Minimum qualifications necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, and 5 years of HR experience preferably in a manufacturing environment OR a combination of HR experience and education.
  • PC Skills: Word Excel PowerPoint Access Other: HRIS-Paycor / Sourcing / Time and Attendance

Knowledge and Beneficial experience:

internal and external contacts:

Daily communications with site management concerning Human Resources and training functions. Internal contact with all personnel on issues concerning benefits, wages, policies and procedures, disciplinary actions, and training. External contact with corporate Human Resources, benefit administrators, local employment recruiters, and area companies.

Most of the job will be sitting, standing, and walking in an office and production environment. Use of dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment (computer, printer, etc.) will be required; occasional lifting of light objects 5-10 lbs.
